Paul Shalala is a Kitwe-based reporter for the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation. He is the Secretary for Zambia Union of Broadcasters and other Information Disseminators, he sits on the Board of the Zambia -United States Exchange Alumni Association. He has worked for MUVI Television and New Vision Newspaper. He was awarded the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship and studied Public Management at Syracuse University in New York. He has so far reported from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and North America. Paul is the founder and Managing Director of PAMOS Media Consultancy a company which is training 100 Zambian journalists in budget tracking and investigative journalism skills funded by the US Government. He is a 2018 Obama Foundation Leader and won the 2018 Singy Haanyona Media Award in Environment and Development, Zambia's highest media award in environmental and climate change reporting. At the international scene, he was a finalist for the Africa Story Challenge Media Awards (2013), won Second Prize during the Africa Fact Checking Media Awards (2014) and won the Ricardo Ortega Prize in Broadcast Media from the United Nations Correspondents Association (2017).
